Erbil, also known as Hawler, is a captivating city situated in the heart of the Kurdistan region in northern Iraq. Known as one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, dating back over 5,000 years, Erbil is a place where ancient heritage and modernity exist harmoniously side by side. It is celebrated for its well preserved, soaring Erbil Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage site that dominates the skyline and offers outstanding panoramic views. The city is surrounded by an ancient moat and features a bustling market, the Qaysari Bazaar, overflowing with traditional handicrafts, food, and clothing. Contemporary attractions, such as the spacious park of Sami Abdulrahman, malls, restaurants and hotels add a cosmopolitan feel to this pivotal Middle Eastern city.

Erbil is a very safe city as it is filled with Arabs, Kurds as well as plenty of foreigners. It is a very developed city and yet sets its boundaries with women. In public transport, men stand up for women if there isn't a seat available. Also they prefer to sit alone or with a man rather than a woman to keep their distance. Almost everywhere everyone treats each other with great respect and hospitality
