Hi all! I’m Melek and been traveling solo since I was 18!! I’m now 26 and still keep on doing it, hopefully for longer and more countries. So far I’ve been to about 23 countries, mainly Europe. By next year around this time I hope to have doubled it! I would say I have 3 homes, Romania which is where I’m from, Cyprus where my family lives and the Netherlands where I relocated to a few years ago. Is Paphos District safe for women?

My first month in Paphos was a nightmare… Men would honk at me on the street, stop their cars to ask if they could take me somewhere, and one drunk man at the bus stop at 8 p.m. threw insulting comments at me. I lived in Athens for many years, and I never felt the same fear of walking home alone there as I do here.

Paphos is very safe in my opinion. Like any other place it depends on the area. I enjoy afternoon activities like running by the beach, or evening walks near the harbour. It is usually filled with tourists, families and the people there are very welcoming.
