Hiiii, i'm Suki and i'm from Chile All my life I've wanted to travel, but I was only able to do it a year ago and I think I'm addicted hahaha I love meeting people, places, cultures, I am extroverted but sensitive, I don't really know what to say, but I'd love for this to work out!

Hi ladies! My name is Javiera, Javi for short, I’m a cis, straight single woman (if that even matters?), and I live in Santiago, Chile. I’m Chilean-Italian (though my Italian is really weak), a proud cat lady with three cats (Pippa, Gigi and Señor Sánchez—that last one was my sister’s doing), I have type 2 narcolepsy (I didn’t know that existed, either) so I love a good nap. I love CocaCola Zero, partying, historical places, medical science, and my family. Also, I tend to overexplain myself, so this will be probably quite long! Tip: if you come to Chile, try Ramitas de Queso (the orange bag, not the blue one!). They’re a snack sold in every supermarket and smaller stores, and they’re so freaking good that I’ve known foreign people who’ve bought bags to take back home. I will cut to the chase! I love traveling (of course, or I wouldn’t be writing this 😅), but as of right now I have never had the freedom to travel by myself because even though I’m 30 (writing this in August 2025), I’m completely dependent on my dad since I’ve been ill for most of the last decade because of a very, very fragile mental health (just so you get an idea, I was going to med school and had to drop out in my fourth year as a consequence of my mental health, which was incredibly devastating, and I haven’t been able to go back to college or even work because of my PTSD, so you can get an idea of why I’m so dependent on him in pretty much every aspect of my life). I *am* slowly getting better though (veerrrry slowly, slower than I would like), but, as I start a new decade of my life, I’ve made it my main goal to become more independent and to fulfill my dreams of traveling and seeing the world instead of just staring at the four walls of my bedroom in my dad’s house so I can really start healing, going out and start meeting people again after years of being too depressed to go out and losing most of my friends to my mental illness. So yeah, I’m a complex person (who isn’t?) who’s had a rough life (who hasn’t?), but I’m really open about it and I prefer to talk about it first and get it out of the way so I can get into the stuff this app was created for! So, back to what’s important. I’d be happy to accompany you to see my city since it’s not the safest (the idea of a foreign woman walking alone through downtown Santiago gives me goosebumps), to meet up and have a coffee, talk to you about the best places to visit in Chile, or whatever 😊 I’d love to host but, as I’ve mentioned, I live with my dad in his house. He doesn’t trust social apps and meeting people through them (unless it’s bumble, that’s how he met his girlfriend haha), and, reasonably, he’s even less inclined to let them into our home. But, maybe, if you happen to pass through my house, my dad might like you and be like “okay, she can stay” (this happened before when I met an exchange student through friends and was hanging out with her, but then the social uprising of 2018 happened and she wasn’t able to get back home safely so I brought her here, and my dad is really protective and would never let a woman be alone in Santiago at night, and even less in that context). Fair warning though, he’s still very wary and distrustful of strangers, but since he only has daughters, he’s got a soft heart for women in need of a place to stay (and he trusts women more than men), so that’s basically why I can’t be an “official” host. As I said, I love traveling, but I’ve only traveled with my family and only in the last ten years. I’ve been to San Andrés Island (Colombia, 2016), Florianopolis (Brazil, 2020) and Buenos Aires (Argentina, 2022), and this October (2025) I’ll be going to Europe (my lifelong dream) for the first time since my sister is living in Granada doing a master’s degree! I’ll be in southern Spain, all over Italy (my family is from one of the small towns in Cinque Terre (Corniglia) and I’m SO excited!), all over Portugal, and briefly visit Kraków (my dad is a big WWII nerd, and I’ve been watching movies and documentaries about it with him since before I could talk, so I’m pretty excited, plus I’ve seen pictures and it’s BEAUTIFUL!), and I’d love to meet people in the places I’m going to so we can hang out, party, and just be a normal young woman who wants to start “cutting the umbilical cord” from my family. I’ll be in Marbella for Halloween, and I’ve got a feeling that I could have a great time there 👀💃🏻 Send me a message if you need anything, just want to chat, if you have any advise, whatever 😊

I left my country, Chile, in 2021 to become—without knowing it at the time—a digital nomad. I love traveling, but slowly, at my own pace. I enjoy discovering new places, experiencing different cultures, and trying local food. I like getting to know and understanding the reality of each place I visit.

Santiago is quite safe, but certain neighborhoods should be avoided, such as Bellavista. Don't go alone, and if it gets late, call an Uber. Don't walk through the streets in that area after 9:00 p.m. Also, when walking through crowded places, don't carry your backpack on your back to avoid theft.

Although Santiago is a relatively safe city compared to other Latin American cities, you should be cautious in some areas. During the day, it's generally quite calm and safe. You can use public transportation or ride-hailing apps, but you should always be on the lookout for robberies and scams, especially targeting tourists. You should protect your cell phone, as well as flashy cameras, bags, and wallets. At night, you should be careful in dark areas. Always walk on main streets and try to use ride-hailing apps like Uber to ensure your safety. If you have a good budget, you can consider staying in areas like Providencia or Las Condes. If your budget is a little lower, you can consider the areas of Ñuñoa or downtown Santiago, but ideally, the areas that are close to a metro station.
