It's pretty safe, but better not to be alone after dark, city doesn't really have night life People are respectful towards foreigners, and are very hospitable Please dress modestly, no crop tops or mini skirts

I went entered Tajikistan via the Pamir highway and maaaaan it was so beautiful!!! My favourite place is the Wakhan Valley which borders with Afghanistan. Back in 2019, it was a place where the Taliban had not infiltrated and so it was very safe there. Unfortunately I'm not so sure about now, since the Taliban has taken over the country. But that said, even if you don't go to Wakhan Valley, there's tons of other beautiful places around Tajikistan! The people are very friendly and kind and the nature is absolutely stunning! There's also such rich history in this country as a place along the ancient silk roads. If you ever get the chance, 110% recommend you give Tajikistan a visit! Safety wise, I felt quite safe while I was there, but I guess like you would with any country, just exercise safety precautions! Have a look into political situations/ conflict before you go and you should be fine :)

Tajikistan is not well known travel destination. However, it is very safe for everyone even for a solo woman traveler. There's not much to do in the cities, yet the natural beauty of the mountains speaks for itself. The country is covered in 90% with the mountains, so it is perfect hike destination. I feel safe everywhere I went, people were welcoming and helpful as well as curious of me. The food is based on the meat diet, which doesn't mean that vegetarian dishes do not exist. It is still a relatively cheap destination. I hired a guide to do a 4 days hike in Fann mountains with me and my group. It was an amazing experience with views that we never forget. I highly recommend to visit Tajikistan.
