In general Seoul is safer than Europe countries but I would recommend to be careful specially if girls goes out at night in famous area like hongdae and itaewon . Korean guys usually goes to these areas to have fun with foreign girl. I’ve been living in Korea for 4 years and unfortunately I did have bad experiences . The white horse is still something happening these days . Even if in general Korea is safe , still need to be vigilant at night
Posted: April 21, 2025Amazing city, yes, but crime towards women(misogyny) and racism(to non-white people) needs to be noticed. People might seem cold, but they're just tired about their life. Don't sway around hot places(Hongdae, Sungsoo, etc.) alone at night. Police number in Korea is 112.
Posted: April 19, 2025It is generally a safe city, especially considering it is a huge capital city. I as a woman can always walk around almost anywhere at night. There is nearly no thiefs or robbers. Public transportation is also amazing.
Posted: April 12, 2025I think Seoul is mostly safe for women tourists and travelers. I’ve never had a problem walking alone or at night. But there is still lots of sexism and misogyny here, so it’s important to be careful. There are plenty of stories of women being harassed or followed or filmed without permission.

It’s safe country here! You can put your luggage anywhere. No one steal your bag or your wallet. I think you should care when you in the club or bar.(sometimes, some strangers put the medicine in your cup) That’s all!
Posted: February 12, 2025Seoul is one of the safest city in the world. I would be glad to tour you around here and share its culture with you. I have been living here for 3 years. So I have an pretty good idea around the city
Posted: February 9, 2025It’s the safest country I’ve ever been to. I first cane here when I was 16 y.o by myself for a language program and I managed to stay for 2 months without any issues. That’s a big reason why I came back here for university.
Posted: February 1, 2025Seoul is extremely safe for woman travelers, even solo. I go home in the middle of the night walking alone in every area of Seoul and never had any problem. You can meet some people wanting to practice their english so they will come up talk to you and my best advice is to ignore them as it can become weird. Never got stolen anything or encounter any big problem in 3 years there.
Posted: January 26, 2025I would say it is fairly okay just because there are lots of cameras, I would feel safe walking home at the evening. But everything can happen and you have to be careful anyways cause you never know.
Posted: January 6, 2025Seoul is a pretty safe city, probably one of the safest. There are few infamous areas, but not at all common to be unsafe. You would even feel safe laying in the streets in 2am if you stay in a more central area.

Korea for traveling is a beautiful country but as someone who’ve been living here for 4years I recommend to be careful when girl goes out in famous areas like hongdae and itaewon . A lot of Korean goes there to have fun with foreigners. So please I hope people stop romanticized Koreans . They are not the same as the ones you see in kdrama

Germany
It was my first big solo trip ever. I would describe myself as a very cautious person, but i felt safe walking around at all times. I got out of my comfort zone a lot, in a good way. The food was so good and affordable, there were so many things to see. Definitely recommend.

I'm a new solo traveler, really excited to go to Japan and travel overseas alone for the first time! I lived abroad of Korea over a decade while moving around countries, so I love meeting new people! I worked in the education field here in Korea but I'm kinda burnt out, maybe I want to find a new way of living? Not sure with my life but solo traveling is going to be one new path for me!
