There is no such thing as a complete safety for girls anywhere in the world. But in Seoul you can walk around at night without too much worry. People don’t really care about other property, so no worries for burglary.
Posted: May 4, 2025In general Seoul is safer than Europe countries but I would recommend to be careful specially if girls goes out at night in famous area like hongdae and itaewon . Korean guys usually goes to these areas to have fun with foreign girl. I’ve been living in Korea for 4 years and unfortunately I did have bad experiences . The white horse is still something happening these days . Even if in general Korea is safe , still need to be vigilant at night
Posted: April 21, 2025Amazing city, yes, but crime towards women(misogyny) and racism(to non-white people) needs to be noticed. People might seem cold, but they're just tired about their life. Don't sway around hot places(Hongdae, Sungsoo, etc.) alone at night. Police number in Korea is 112.
Posted: April 19, 2025It is generally a safe city, especially considering it is a huge capital city. I as a woman can always walk around almost anywhere at night. There is nearly no thiefs or robbers. Public transportation is also amazing.
Posted: April 12, 2025I think Seoul is mostly safe for women tourists and travelers. I’ve never had a problem walking alone or at night. But there is still lots of sexism and misogyny here, so it’s important to be careful. There are plenty of stories of women being harassed or followed or filmed without permission.

It’s safe country here! You can put your luggage anywhere. No one steal your bag or your wallet. I think you should care when you in the club or bar.(sometimes, some strangers put the medicine in your cup) That’s all!
Posted: February 12, 2025Seoul is one of the safest city in the world. I would be glad to tour you around here and share its culture with you. I have been living here for 3 years. So I have an pretty good idea around the city
Posted: February 9, 2025It’s the safest country I’ve ever been to. I first cane here when I was 16 y.o by myself for a language program and I managed to stay for 2 months without any issues. That’s a big reason why I came back here for university.
Posted: February 1, 2025Seoul is extremely safe for woman travelers, even solo. I go home in the middle of the night walking alone in every area of Seoul and never had any problem. You can meet some people wanting to practice their english so they will come up talk to you and my best advice is to ignore them as it can become weird. Never got stolen anything or encounter any big problem in 3 years there.
Posted: January 26, 2025I would say it is fairly okay just because there are lots of cameras, I would feel safe walking home at the evening. But everything can happen and you have to be careful anyways cause you never know.
Posted: January 6, 2025based on 34 experiences from female travelers
As a foreigner I felt safe walking around, even at night. I was there for around 8 weeks and never witnessed any antisocial behaviour. The worst thing was some of the public toilets were quite poorly maintained. Bring your own toilet paper! In fact, I was warned about racism (especially from older people) yet the older people I came across were lovely, even at one time offering their seat to me on public transport when I had many shopping bags. I was mostly worried about rabies, as there were many stray cats I liked to feed around my hotel. Unfortunately I did see a rabid cat :(
Posted: May 7, 2025Korea for traveling is a beautiful country but as someone who’ve been living here for 4years I recommend to be careful when girl goes out in famous areas like hongdae and itaewon . A lot of Korean goes there to have fun with foreigners. So please I hope people stop romanticized Koreans . They are not the same as the ones you see in kdrama
