I can’t think of any country where I will feel this safe walking alone on the streets post midnight, and this feeling would not be compromised even if I was drenched in gold head to toe. The strict laws have kept the crime rates as minimum as possible

Doha

It's pretty much the safest place to visit in the world! Women are respected and have access to everything. It is recommended to wear clothing according to the cultural norm. It's the only country I feel completely safe in driving around at 3am in.

Honestly, it's very safe for anyone. I haven't had any issues living here..but I wouldn't recommend anyone to come during summer (june-july) it's too hot, December would be pretty good time to visit. (Expensive country)

Qatar

Qatar is one of the safest countries in the world. Any lady traveller can be sure that she will be respected and well treated here. You can stay outside any time of the day without danger of being robbed, raped, kidnapped. It's enough to know English to travel here.

Doha

It is generally a safe city with low crime rates, and they have many CCTVs and safety features around. The country prides itself for being safe and having a safe city but I always advice for the basic safety precautions anywhere you are.

Qatar

Qatar is an extremely safe country. I am a student. I can walk at night at any time. I am sure no one will approach me or try to do anything because the culture affects many things. It’s not appropriate in this country to approach a woman that openly or harass her.

Is Qatar worth visiting?

Travel rating

4 /5

based on 12 experiences from female travelers

Doha, Solo travel

It was a fun experience I did feel safe The activities there are mostly in malls as it's very hot and humid, but I was told that the weather is nicer in January I stayed with a family friend, and that was a blessing The good but it depends on the cusine there's a wide variety of cuisines and cultures in Qatar Travel was mostly via Uber. You can't really walk anywhere Fun activities I did: visiting the National Museum. It was amazing. I highly recommend trying it out. I don't remember exactly how much I paid, but it was reasonable, and I believe they have student discounts if you're in Uni I also visited the islamic museum. The view there was spectacular And Souq waqif which is a huge market with lots of different kinds of shops and restaurants I highly recommend it but you have to go there at night

Doha, Solo travel

In doha I felt very safe, my stay was short so I didn’t get to do much but I’m sure there are so many cool things to visit or do. One of my favourites sights was alhazm mall it had a very nice architecture, with a bit pricy shops. However the airport was a journey itself, it was VERY long, nothing to be scared of tho, good luck!!
