It's a very quiet and overall safe little town. People are nice and willing to help you with directions and whatever you might need. There isn't much public transport though, so you have to walk everywhere or know someone who can offer you a ride.

Asunción is like most cities. You have to be careful with your stuff. Most people use their phones on the street in the busy neighborhoods, but I wouldn't recommend it in evening hours when it is already dark. Pickpockets are quite common on public transport, especially when it's crowded. Like any other city, you should avoid going to the known unsafe neighborhood.
Posted: February 3, 2025I honestly think Concepción is very safe because I always go for a walk during the night (I've been doing this for years) and nothing ever happened to me. So I'd say, especially downtown is quite safe.

I enjoy sunrises & sunsets and beautiful landscapes. I love coffee, books, movies, laugh a lot and love to meet new people. I rarely go anywhere without my camera and am always happy to do a little photoshoot.
