Mostly Jerusalem is a safe place, especially in daytime and if you're not alone. But, due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people, and because Jerusalem is packed by strictly orthodox Jews, sometimes there're terror attacks and demonstrations. It happens mostly in east Jerusalem, but you don't want to go there anyway. Lovely and very beautiful city, wouldn't recommend travelling there along at night, unless you know some locals.

Hi! I'm a student at HUJI leaving in Jerusalem. I have some solo traveling experience in South-east Asia, and looking forward to gain more fun memories.
