Muscat is so safe I can leave my car open. I can walk alone at night. I also can leave my apartment open. But as a woman you’ll get some looks if you’re wearing different clothing as the average Omani woman.

Muscat is a wonderful city with Islamic values and a conservative culture. Be respectful of the customs, and you'll have a wonderful time. You can leave your stuff on a table and it will not be touched.
