Is Muscat safe for solo female travelers?

Muscat is generally a safe destination for solo female travelers. The city is known for its warm hospitality, low crime rate, and respectful culture. While there are cultural norms that should be understood and respected, such as dressing modestly, foreigners are often treated with kindness and respect. However, like any destination, it is always important to stay vigilant, especially during the night hours, and to follow common traveling safety measures. Safe day and night, even for female solo travelers. 99.9% of locals are nice and welcoming and willing to help to best of their abilities but I would be weary of taking random lifts while hitchhiking.

Oman is an incredibly safe country, with a very low crime rate and virtually no violent or petty crime. The people are warm, friendly, and welcoming, especially towards foreigners, and all religions are respected. While walking around, you can feel safe even at night, though. There has been instances where i have been catcalled or followed but without any harm or interaction. However, these occurrences are rare and do not diminish the overall sense of security in the country. It is one of the most peaceful countries in the world.

Muscat is a safe city. I would often take a stroll at night with no worries, as the hospitality-centric culture of the people reassures my worries on my safety. The only uncomfortable thing I would get is stares by other foreign workers.

Muscat and oman in general is one of the safest and most quiet places. The people here are very respectful. It's safe to the point that I don't worry to leave my things around like my phone or purse. It's rare to hear about crimes. Like if such a thing happened it will be all over the news because of how rare. I usually go out with my friend alone travel to other cities. I sometimes stay out till 4 am and it's safe. I really recommend it.

Oman is a safe and clean country, and the locals will welcome you with open arms. If you are a foreigner, they are just intrigued to know more about you. They all know English as well. It’s a beautiful place filled with beaches and mountains.
