It's a safe city during the day but at night it gets a bit dangerous in the center of the city. I would avoid walking alone at night. The beach area is pretty safe though. Also if you're a foreigner avoid walking with your phone visible and careful with cabs, I'd rather use uber.
Posted: February 21, 2025I would say it is quite safe, obviously there are certain areas like the downtown where you have to be extra careful, but the city in general is safe. You can always turn to the authorities who are constantly on the move.
