I would say it’s a city where I always feel safe, even in the evening/at night. Crime level is low and the police is always somewhere around ready to help especially in the central districts. Using taxi from the apps like yandex or A1 is safe.

Minsk is considered a very safe city and I agree. The people here are friendly and usually ready to help. However I can’t exclude the fact that sometimes it’s scary to walk in the nighttime just because people are different.
Posted: July 19, 2025I wouldn’t say Minsk is unsafe - just as Belarus on average it is quite stable, but political situation always makes me feel on edge as a citizen, because we basically don’t have rights in here. I’m not sure how or if it transfers to tourists
Posted: July 15, 2025Very save and nice city, especially in the centre. Nice polite people, many people know English very well and can help if you ask someone on the street. I can’t say that is dangerous to walk in the night, the central part of the city is clean and safe
Posted: July 9, 2025i’d call minsk mostly a safe place for women, as the crime rate there is very low. although i’d recommend staying in centre and not going far from it or to suburbs as, obviously, there you might not have an opportunity to escape an unwanted attention from men. but i believe that’s how it is pretty much everywhere all around the world, so yeah. people in minsk are mostly polite and decent, so overall, there’s nothing to worry about.

Minsk seems very safe to me, and for women solo travels as well! good food, nice people, language barrier could be a little of a problem, but younger generation know some English, I'm recommending you to visit Асмалоўка area, I personally think it's the most touching place of the city
