I felt very, very safe the only thing I recommend is that if you're going to the natural pools, bring shirts or tops that cover your chest. I was in a bikini and the waves are aggressive, so much so that one of my breasts got exposed. I wasn't the only one this happened to. On the other hand, the food is excellent, the sea is beautiful and relaxing; truly everything PERFECT.

Is not a place necessarily for backpackers... It can be expensive because they don't use Uber and buses are in very specific times. The beaches and the sand are amazing but I recommend to just go if you're in a larger group and if you can get a rented car as the distances are quite long. However, I managed to take some buses, so is not impossible. a lot of foreign people, European mostly.
