Yeah it's a safe place but yeah be careful there might be accident due to excessive vehicles on road. Food was also well served as well as people are kind and helpful.Kathmandu felt like a living tapestry of tradition, energy, and warmth. I didn’t want to leave—but I had to float back to the cloud.”

I was sightseeing with two other tourists so I guess I felt safe but you will get approached by people/kids on the street trying to convince you to buy something. Everything’s pretty cheap which might make you want to get everything haha but definitely expect to spend some money on souvenirs.
