Hey there! My name is Tati Sattar. I’m 25 years old. And I’m a visual artist from Baku. I identify myself as a photographer. I'm a native Bakuvian. I love the city where I was born, grew up, and live my 25 years. I know this city, its story, culture, and traditions like my 5 fingers. I like to meet new people share my story, and learn something new from other people. It inspires me to make art. I’m always looking for new faces and new stories.

I arrived to Baku through Ganja because the tickets are way cheaper than reaching Baku directly. Ganja is one of the historical cities in Azerbijan and you can enjoy one day wandering around the city then to head to Baku through the train, it takes around 3 hours and it was super comfortable and I advice you to get the tickets ahead of time. In Baku I stayed in Zamzam hotel and its very affordable hotel and close to the center. In Baku I personally found Bolt the best way to move around the city as its cheap and easy to use. I recommend Azerbijan for female solo travellers because its safe and you will enjoy each moment in there. The food, places and people all were great.
Posted: January 7, 2024Experienced: November, 2023Baku is stunning, pristine, well-maintained, with futuristic modern buildings and a very hospitable population. It is full of contrasts, with orthodox Muslim women on one hand, and on the other hand, there are liberal and free women dressed according to the prevailing atmosphere.
Posted: September 24, 2023I went to Baku alone from Tbilisi (my first solo trip) and I really enjoyed it. Overall, I felt quite safe - I was followed by a few child pickpockets on the promenade, but this phenomenon is common in many cities. A large part of Baku reminds me of Europe, with a slightly oriental touch, and everything is easy to explore on foot (I walked around on my own and it was fine). I recommend using Uber or Bolt in Baku, as taxi drivers there try to cheat people.
