Doha is a beautiful country with perfect architecture! Very kind and responsive people, so I didn’t feel fear or danger for a minute. I recommend visiting the The Pearl Island and Al Maha Island. Also go to Souq Waqif, there you can find souvenirs, clothing stores and etc. The weather is humid and hot, so I immediately bought myself an abaya, because it’s impossible to walk in jeans :)
Posted: December 26, 2024Experienced: December, 2024I was there a few months ago, and it is one of the few places where I didn't feel safe. Cars stopping non-stop, offering me rides or trips to the Safari, one followed me for so long until I hid in a café, men in shops offering to pay for me and then chatting me up at the entrance. Never again.
Posted: November 13, 2024I am incredibly impressed by this city. The cleanliness and safety surprised me. Uber, which doesn’t always work well everywhere, is amazing there. And it’s relatively affordable. You feel safe during the day, and people are very friendly. I was traveling with my friend who has lived there for a few years, which made things easier for me, but I can tell you that even if you’re planning a solo trip, you can go without any worries. A few things surprised me, like the paid beaches, which aren’t cheap. As for alcohol, I probably don’t need to say that you can’t buy it in stores, and locals themselves need a license to buy it privately for home use. The city and its architecture made a huge impression on me.
Posted: November 12, 2024I traveled alone on my own and felt very safe. No one bothered me. I took an Uber from the airport and caught a taxi on the street on the way back, no unpleasantness at all; people were very kind and helpful. Granted, I only walked around the Corniche, the souq, and the Museum of Islamic Art (I didn’t have time for more as I was just on a layover), so I stayed in tourist areas, but I think it would be similar everywhere.
Posted: November 2, 2024Doha is a wonderful city to visit. I felt safe while moving around Doha. I would like to note the convenience of public transport - you can take the metro to all the most interesting places in Doha. I recommend visiting the Qatar National Museum, Sku Waqif Market, Doha Qatar Cultural Museum and the Doha Corniche (there are many attractions along it).

Posted: June 12, 2024Very safe! I never felt uncomfortable as a woman in Doha and I didn't have to worry about my belongings either. The only downside is that it's quite expensive. However, there's a lot to do and a lot to see which makes it so worth it!
Posted: October 28, 2023Experienced: November, 2019Need to wear something that covers shoulders for women. But great stopover for a 48h layover. Doha is beautiful, I went dune bashing, visited the souks and had a great time in a city as rich as Dubai but less crazy :) Safe !
