Vilnius is safe. People mind their own business, they don’t bother you. Rarely there might be some drunk people late in the evening. Maybe avoid train station after 10pm. Overall I find it safe, never been harassed in 3 years living here. Stick to the main streets in the center/old town during evening time.

Vilnius is a quite safe city, especially in the city centre. Personally I never had any incidents (I live here for 9 years). Sometimes there’s some catcalling from the cars during day, sometimes drunk guys try to flirt, but usually people back off if you strictly tell them that you’re not interested. I don’t feel particularly safe jogging or skateboarding alone at night, so I try to stay in places that are well lit and stay on main streets. But other from that I feel quite safe in my city and still go out alone in the nighttime. Keep in mind that I’m talking about city centre, since I always lived there. You should be a little more careful around station (train and bus stations are nearby eachother). There’s not a lot of pickpocketing and mugging in Vilnius, but nonetheless remember to take care of your belonings.

Vilnius is a really safe place when it comes to visiting main touristy sites, especially in the old town. I’d say that areas a bit further from city center have their minuses, as the possibility to meet drunk people during the night is higher. Overall it’s a really safe city, pickpockets aren’t common, you don’t really have to guard your belongings every possible minute, but, as every traveler should consider, be aware of your surroundings and avoid shady neighborhoods during the night.
Posted: April 3, 2024Vilnius depends on areas of the city - is still pretty friendly and safe city to live in or have vacation. City center is pretty safe as well as campuses. Public transport is also safe I would say, I never worry when I travel by it late. It is a multi cultural city but I feel pretty good as a female in a big city

Vilnius is always great 🫶 I adore this city and it’s really worth visiting during any season. Great people, nice traditional cuisine and Old Town makes you go back in time. Every time I leave, I immediately want to go back :) There are many options for exploring the city and the country itself, for shopping, activities and anything you like during trips.
Posted: April 18, 2024I only spent two days there. At the MO Museum at that time, there was a contemporary art exhibition about Vilnius, which gave me some idea of what artists think about this place. I saw Literacka Street, Zarzecze (an alternative state, which even has its own charming constitution) and as for cafes, I recommend Elska Coffee.

I am Italian and I live in Vilnius, Lithuania. It is my home and one of the greenest capitals in Europe. I like travelling and seeing new countries through the eyes of locals. I love karaoke! I am fluent in English and Italian. My dream would be to speak Arabic but at the moment I just limit myself to listening to any Arab music! :D
