I felt very safe the whole time. 4 days were more than enough to see all I wanted. The Christmas markets are very worth visiting more for the experience than the shopping per se. The city center is quite small so you can walk almost everywhere with little effort but public transportation is widely available and easy to use.
Posted: April 8, 2024Vienna was amazing for a solo traveler, especially for someone who loves art and museums. I was there only for 3 days and from the morning till the night i was walking around and visiting museums. The city is magnificent. I stayed at female hostel, and the experience was amazing. It was my first solo travel, and i felt safe, inspite of the fact that city was full of tourists…

I don‘t know why but I feel like it‘s always sunny in Vienna! (Even in the coldest october) The pictures were taken by my analog camera when I visited a good friend last october. I always felt safe in the city and even though it‘s a big city it doesn‘t feel like it. I can highly recommend, it‘s a really beautiful city.🌞

Lots to do and see. Most people speak English too. There is something for everyone here in Vienna. I found it not too difficult to make friends so that’s a plus. Felt very safe especially as a woman walking on my own at night.

I stayed at the Stadaffe hostel it was super social and nice. The city is very safe to walk around both during the day and at night. It’s is really clean and gives a nice and cozy atmosphere. You have a lot of budget friendly fast food and a lot of shops. It’s really easy to move around with public transportation.
Posted: December 28, 2023It was very beautiful and amazing ! 😊😊Very great art museums to see. Safe and clean city, would recommend for solo female travel 👍🏻 👍🏻 Also, would recommend going to the vineyards that is 30 mins from the city, amazing view and lovely wine, what’s not to like 😉

The infrastructure of the city is a top tier and very convenient to get around. Schoenbrunn zoo and palace is a must to see even in the cold months. You may enjoy the Christmas market in front of it as well for a cup of mulled whine. The best market for me was this in front of the Rathaus - food was the best and it is a lot bigger than the others. Cafe Central is another place you might want to visit for a breakfast/brunch - it is worth the hype. There are hotels budget friendly and close to the center in the same time. It is possible to do Vienna on a budget just decide what do you want to do and focus on that. For us were the Christmas markets and mulled wine hehe. For a restaurant we went to Centimeter ll - the schnitzel there was delicious. It is generally safe. Use common sense and be aware of your surroundings. Vienna in the winter is beautiful and worth the cold weather to see it!
Posted: July 14, 2023I went in May and I really enjoyed it there. I spent most of my time at free or discounted attractions, but the city was quite easy to navigate, safe and seemed beautiful to me.
Posted: July 14, 2023Vienna is an incredible and beautiful city. I really enjoyed the Freud Museum, the Belvedere Palace, and the Schönbrunn Palace. I felt very safe.
Posted: May 25, 2023I went in Vienna at the end of October for 4 days and it was perfect ! First of all I’m glad about the time I went. The weather was very good considering that it was almost November and also none of the places I visited was crowded with people ! I chose to stay in an apartment instead of a hostel this time vacua’s I came across it on tiktok and it was really beautiful and it made feel safe. The name is Sophienne apartments and is located right across the metro station. It was so easy to go everywhere. My recommendations : - Even if you have nothing planned to do, just take a walk and you will find so many things ! Literally there’s so many beautiful places all over the city. - You can find people selling food in the middle of the street everywhere, which is good if you have a tight budget and can’t always afford restaurants. - You have to go to Hallstatt ! It’s totally worth it. Such a magical place. - Get your water bottles from a local supermarket. The charge way to much for a small bottle of water even in cafes. Honestly I enjoyed a lot my time in Vienna even if it was an expensive trip.

I would say that Vienna is extremely safe, even for female solo travellers. Of course it varies from district to district, but especially the inner districts 1-9 are safe. As a woman, I feel safe here, even being allone in the streets at night.

Overall Vienna is quite safe i guess. Especially in the inner districts. But don’t go through dark streets alone during the night. U should also not go in parks at nighttime alone. Public transport is normally safe and no problem.
Posted: March 30, 2024Vienna is a very safe city on average. Still, there sadly are unpleasant situations in everyday life (especially as a woman), but living in and exploring Vienna usually isn't dangerous at all. Simple stay alert and enjoy your time here :)

From my personal experience Vienna is rather safe. In the past i have dealt with minor sexual harassment, like catcalling, but nothing that has put me in danger. I would not say that there are certain districts, which are more dangerous than others. However, while i feel safe, i do want to mention the high femicide rate. From what i understand Austria is the only country in the EU in which more women are murdered than men. Overall Austria still has one of the lowest murder rates in the EU, but these statistic show how misogyny is still deeply engrained in our culture.

Depending on the district, but generally speaking very safe & easy! Women experience harm sadly everywhere, but Vienna is decent. Public transportation is okay but you see drunks & homeless. Generally 9/10 Safety
Posted: March 5, 2024Vienna is a really safe and clean city. I never had any problems here and I live here since 5 years. You will have a good time, nothing can happen basically you can even walk home by night. There are also many police men and securities

There is nothing really to worry about. Maybe be in company at night, that is always better. But I used to work night shifts and I felt quite safe on my way home. Depends a lot on the district you are in.
Posted: February 29, 2024There are a few places to avoid after dark (especially some train stations, like praterstern). As a solo woman you may feel gnerally a bit uneasy at night. But in the day you won't experience any problems and all in all it's a very safe city.
Posted: February 25, 2024Vienna is safe in general. Depends on which district you're going to. There are some districts compared to others that are considered dangerous. However in general compared to most of the big cities it's quite safe.
Posted: February 22, 2024In my opinion Vienna is a very safe city. I live in a district which is said to be "dangerous", but i've never had any person harass me in any way, even if i'm walking home alone in the middle of the night. But I'd still recommend to not go in shady little alleys & rather try to stay on the big streets.

Very nice, I would recommend it. It's a clean city, calm and very cultural, with beautiful green spaces. The city of Vienna captured my soul and my heart belongs to it. It is a serious-looking city, full of right angles and old historical streets. It screams majestic, and you can almost see the phantoms from eras past travelling through the air in gorgeous gowns . Vienna is worth a visit for her face and culture is as old as Europe herself— from her cuisine, street performances, and architecture.

I loved Vienna very much. I saw Gustav Klmtin's famous painting The Kiss up close and visited many museums. Vienna was a wonderful city. I stayed in a hotel and everything was very cosy. I tried Vienna's famous coffee and dessert and it was great.
