Solo female traveling in oslo. Always felt super safe even at night. Highly recommand taking a walking tour as it is an easy to make travel buddies. During the summer, I enjoyed taking the waterbus to visit the islands of the Oslofjord. It's an inexpensive lovely day trip especially for spending the day at the beach.

I didn't always feel safe in Oslo but I felt safer than in Romania . There's a card you can buy to travel in different zones of Oslo , there's an app too I think. Good food and drinks at Vulkan and cafés on Akerbrygge. Deichman biblioteks should be on your list too. Norwegians are friendly, nice people and their smile makes you remember them.

Solo travel experience

I had an amazing time and regret not staying longer. I highly recommend the Folk Museum, the Viking Ship Museum, Vigeland Park and a walk by the water to see the beautiful Opera House. I managed to try one nice dish - a Norwegian waffle with brown cheese, cream, and jam. It was delicious. Initially, I felt incredibly uneasy being alone, but I felt safe and comfortable exploring the city.

hey guys! i had a trip to oslo for one night and i got only 24 hours to see the city. It was enough for me because i got so tired from the walking/cold and i think i had the best moments of my life. First i wanna warn you about Oslo Torp airport, it is 1.5 hours away from the city and it was expensive than the plane😅 The weather was so so so nice when i get there. Almost everyone know english so it is nice to ask people. I started from the opera house, watched the sunset at the top, walked to the marina for 1 hour and it was night for me. I did couchsurfing in a guys house and he was lovely i felt so safe in Oslo. I didnt buy any food in Oslo because the guy cooked for me and i had other snacks through the day☺️ But i can say it is quite expensive. Next day i went to Lake Sognsvann and walked around it. It was frozen and people would ski and jug with their dogs! After i return to the city i went into the Munch Museum and i must say you should definitily go and see. That was my trip to Oslo:))

Oslo is an overall very safe city. I feel very safe here and people are helpful. Most people speak vey good english. The city isn’t too big and it’s easy to get around by local transportation or walking. At nighttime it’s safe for women to walk by their own.

I was born and raised here, have been really worried for my safety. As a woman you can walk alone at night and it will probably be fine. I’ve never experienced robbery or assaults. Of course be aware, but in general it’s very safe here.

Unless you go to like really shady places you will be just fine. It is so safe here. I live outside of Oslo and I have never expirienced something awful, just regular catcalling. I go party every weekend and take transportation home or walk in the middle of the night alone. Just trust Your instincs

I have lived in Oslo for many years and have never experienced any dangerous situations. Obviously, as a woman I’m going to be aware of my surroundings, especially after dark, when walking alone, but I don’t feel particularly unsafe.

Oslo is a very safe city at any time of day or any time of year. Although the streets at night in winter are not brightly lit the city is very safe. You just have to avoid the parts of the city where the drug addicts gather and be careful and aware in and around train and bus stations.

I spent eight days in Oslo in June. The weather was amazing, and of course it was light until very late. The parks, palaces, museums, saunas, food and people are wonderful. The waterfront area is full of great restaurants. I loved it and plan to return there.

Oslo is a beautiful city, ideal for exploring on your own. I walked everywhere, except for taking a ferry ride to the Viking Ship Museum from the city center. I lived near the Summer Palace, in a charming area. I recommend exploring the palace grounds, the Botanical Gardens, the Munch museum, Vigeland and the park with over 200 sculptures, Dramstredet area full of old houses, as well as visiting the Akershus fortress and castle. I found the food to be expensive.
