Great food, kind hearted people, and beautiful scenery! So much to see when visiting and such a peaceful country. Safe and welcoming. Visited Casablanca, Chefchoen, Tangier, and Rabat. Used Airbnb for all locations and rented a car to get around the country. Great experience.
Posted: February 18, 2024I was in Morocco for a week with two friends. We stayed in a Camp and through that had a really safe surrounding. We had the chance to go surfing every day and visited the souks. If you go to Morocco, make sure to visit those if you have the chance to. I wouldn’t do it much often, but wouldn’t miss out on it either. The locals are incredible friendly. Even though as a woman you will receive a lot of comments, nobody ever really wanted something from us. The food was amazing. We got to eat local food every day and I really miss it. There are really good vegetarian options. If you stay in a camp or volunteer in one, it is possible to stay there for a lower budget. The shops aren’t as expensive and food is easy to get as well. Overall, I would go there again in a heartbeat if I would have the chance to do so. The nature surrounding the city’s is amazing and the city’s are really pretty to visit.
Posted: February 16, 2024I spent 2 weeks there myself and had a great time. As in any country, you just have to be sensible, but I felt quite safe there. I was in Marrakech for 4 days, then I took a desert tour and met a few people who were also there on their own, and then I went to Taghazout, which was beautiful, and there were also a lot of solo travelers there. I highly recommend visiting Morocco.
Posted: December 19, 2023I was in Morocco for three weeks. However, I spent one week with another girl, and the rest of the time I was alone and felt completely safe. I had no problems. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful. I absolutely loved it there. If I asked for directions - they guided me. I asked which bus to take from the centre of Marrakech to the airport (public transport can be confusing) and they were so kind to walk me to the place where the bus stops. However, I must add that I am an experienced backpacker with confidence and a good knowledge of English and Spanish, as well as a little French. Perhaps this made my experience so good, but I simply loved being there, I would recommend it to all my (female) friends, and I will definitely return. The food was amazing. And all the colorful markets were astounding. It was also cheap. It really is an incredible country, but I recommend using common sense. I didn't walk around alone in the dark nor did I flaunt my money.
Posted: December 18, 2023I was in Morocco with my 18-year-old daughter. We traveled for a month throughout the country, it was fantastic. We trekked through the Rif mountains, visited many cities, and also the Sahara desert. The people, culture, food, and landscapes are spectacular. Very safe.
Posted: December 4, 2023Morocco is great and I really felt safe there. I recommend dressing in loose clothing, it's better to cover up more than to reveal. In tourist places, they don't pay too much attention to this, but in places where there are fewer tourists, you can hear some intrusive comments. Also watch out for street hustlers, who under the pretext of showing you a place, later expect payment for it.
Posted: November 2, 2023I went with a friend. Without headscarves, in shorts and with tattoos. We traveled all over Morocco. We ate and slept where locals did. We roamed their villages and places that are not visited by most tourists. Besides two or three peculiar, potentially dangerous situations, everything was fine. Moroccans are very welcoming and try to help - but one also needs to maintain distance and be able to distinguish genuine willingness to help from the risk that something might happen. Another thing is that they can be pushy (especially in the north), trying to sell you a carpet, even if you're traveling with just one backpack.
Posted: October 31, 2023I went to Marrakech and took a desert tour to Fes. At no point did I feel safe there, just as in Marrakesh, especially in the Medina. The Medina is full of people trying to trick and mislead you, only to demand money for bringing you back, and Google Maps doesn't work there very well. The only time I generally felt safe was the journey through the desert from Marrakech to Fes, because we had private transfers all the time and we were in a large group of people, so I highly recommend such group tours rather than traveling on your own.
Posted: October 19, 2023I have been to Morocco twice, both times in female company (myself and a friend). The first time for a month, the second time for a shorter period. We felt relatively safe, but we encountered pushy men and a young man who was exposing himself. Marrakesh disappointed me with its excess of touts, but apart from that, I have only wonderful memories.
Posted: October 19, 2023I do not recommend traveling alone to Morocco for a woman. I was there with my boyfriend and we had to be vigilant all the time. We were attempted to be robbed twice, and when I walked alone in Fez or Marrakech, I did not feel safe. If you are going there alone, I suggest not walking around at night, not entering narrow alleys, and being assertive and cautious. Apart from that, Morocco itself is wonderful, with excellent food, attractions, and interesting culture.

Morocco is a safe country, but you should still exercise caution during your stay in some cities or areas. It is typically quite safe in the tourist areas and big cities. However, you should definitely do your research about the neighborhoods you're visiting within these large cities. Overall, traveling to Morocco is very safe. The local people are friendly and welcoming.✨😊

We were in Marrakech for two days and also in Essaouira for three days. We are having very good times. The food is very good, and we found some vegetarian places. The prices are cheaper than in other countries, and everything is fresh. We loved the markets in the streets.
Posted: January 19, 2024Experienced: December, 2023Went with a group tour but I didnt know anyone so I got the experience of both navigating the country with a guide and other people aaand roaming around the cities alone. Even with a group tour I didnt ever really feel too comfortable but it was fine. Walking around alone was unreal, Marrakesh specifically is the ninth circle of hell. Constant catcalling, pulling, approached by strange men who said terrible things to me (I was dressed appropriately, only my head and arms showing), followed around for ridiculous periods of time. If I went without an agency who booked all the activities and flights I wouldve gone home earlier. Fez and Casablance were similar. Chefchaouen and Essaouira were really pleasant. If you go alone stick to coastal towns and Chefchaouen, avoid Marrakesh like the plague.
