Denmark is a remarkably safe destination for solo female travelers. The crime rate is very low and locals are renowned for their friendliness and helpfulness. There's an excellent public transportation system which functions efficiently even late at night, and it's generally safe for women to walk alone. However, as with any travel, keep basic precautions in mind like avoiding less crowded areas during late hours and not displaying your valuables publicly.
Denmark is currently ranked #27 safest country for solo female travellers. Check the full ranking.
Denmark is usually a very safe country to travel in, even at night. Danish cities, especially Copenhagen, are known for their low level of violent crime and tourists rarely experience any problems. However, like in any city, it's always advised to be aware of your surroundings, especially when walking alone at night. It's best to avoid isolated areas and walk confidently. Public transportation is safe and reliable during the night.
Public transportation:Very safe
Public transportation in Denmark, including buses, trams, trains, and metros, is generally safe even for solo female travelers. They are reliable, well-lit, and most of the commuters are respectful. Danish people are also typically helpful to tourists who need directions. Although, like anywhere else, it's important to remain aware of your surroundings, especially during night hours.
Street harassment:Low
Denmark is known for its strong emphasis on equal rights and respect for all individuals. Whilst no place is entirely immune to street harassment, many solo female travelers in Denmark report very rare instances of harassment, indicating it is not a common experience in this country. This largely safe environment can be attributed to the local culture that values politeness and personal space. However, like any other places, caution and personal safety measures are always recommended.
Petty crimes:Low
Denmark is generally a very safe country to visit. Petty crimes such as pickpocketing and bag snatching do occur, but they are not prevalent. They mostly happen at busy transport hubs or tourist-centric areas. As with any travel destination, it is always a good idea to take reasonable precautions and be aware of your surroundings.
Tap water:Very safe
In Denmark, the tap water is held to an extremely high standard and it undergoes strict daily quality controls. Being one of the cleanest in the world, it is often cleaner than bottled water. It is perfectly safe to drink tap water across the country, both in urban and rural areas, and it is enjoyed for its fresh and clean taste.

Solo travel experience
I traveled all over Denmark. I stayed overnight in Odense and Skagen, but I stopped in many other places, such as the beautiful Egeskov Castle, Rubjerg Knude and the surrounding dunes, as well as my favorite castle, the small but charming Spøttrup. I really enjoyed myself in Copenhagen, but the Danish countryside was beautiful! The roads were easy to navigate, and Denmark is a safe country.

I felt incredibly safe in Copenhagen.
Recommendations:
Copenhagen is quite a small city, which is very walkable and you never have to travel too far, but it is large enough to keep you occupied for a few days.

Couple travel experience
We spent 10 days in Denmark and loved every one of them. We adored Grenen in the north, definitely my favourite part of the trip. The cities are charming, but the country has much more to offer, I strongly encourage you to get away from the city and take advantage of what the country has to offer.

Stay with locals in Denmark
Stay with local women in Denmark who offer free accommodation as part of cultural exchange. Couch surfing is a great way to meet new people, learn more about new cultures and experience destinations like a local.
