Their genuine hospitality and willingness to share their stories and traditions added an extra layer of charm to my visit.
Valletta, the capital city, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a true gem. Its fortified walls, narrow streets, and majestic baroque architecture create an ambiance that transports you back in time. Exploring the city's historic sites, such as St. John's Co-Cathedral and the Grand Master's Palace, gave me a deeper appreciation for Malta's rich heritage.

Malta is one of my favorite travel destinations. I went with my daughter and stayed in Sliema, right on the water, which was great, but if I went again I'd stay in Valetta. We did the hop-on hop-off bus and stopped at some fantastic stops, including Hagar Qim, which was fascinating. One day we went on a tour out to the Blue Lagoon. It was a fantastic day. We swam and hiked and ate delicious ice cream.
I loved Valletta and also Gozo, Sliema was nice but had more of a resort feel to it. I wasn't overwhelmed by Saint Paul's Bay though. I felt very safe.
Malta is one of my favorite places in the world and I’ve been three times now. Love the history, architecture, beaches, diving, friendly people, and most of all the food.
I can't think of a safer country I ever visited. At times it almost felt boring. Stayed in Valetta and all the places seemed very friendly. The night walks were the best. I was exploring via public transport as it was incredibly cheap and convenient.

Group trip, but I didn't regret it. Valletta is a beautiful city, but I don't recommend the island for a vacation. Mdina is a beautiful small town with only about a hundred inhabitants, that's why it's called the Silent City. Some scenes from the Game of Thrones series were filmed there. 🤗 As for safety, I have no comment (group trip). Prices are quite high (burger 9eur, pizza 11eur) and nothing special. But they have a happy hour in the afternoon 😄😄.
My first solo trip was to Malta and I loved every minute. At no point did I feel unsafe. I stayed at the Plaza Regency Hotel in Sliema, which was on the seafront, had a bus stop right outside and there were a couple of restaurants over the road and nearby. The buses were great, really reliable and cost-effective. I downloaded an app called moovit to get all of the times, stops, etc. I went to Mdina and Rabat, Buggiba, and Valletta (all by bus) and did a tuk-tuk tour of Gozo. Malta is a beautiful place, with lovely people and such stunning places to visit.
I was in Malta for 3 days and it was a very safe and friendly place. I stayed in Sliema in a budget hotel. The buses were great and not expensive. I went to Valetta, Gozo (rented a bike) and Mdina and hiked from the Dingli cliffs to the Blue Grotto.
I loved Malta. It’s an ideal combo of natural and historical sights with amazing beaches. My favorite experience was the small island next to Malta, named Gozo.
