What is the best beach city to visit in Italy? Something with airport, cute town and nice beach to swim? A trip is for mom and my younger sister, so it should be something not a party but cute and calm vacation 😊
Posted: August 27, 2023I would suggest Genova and Liguria in general. There is a small Airport, but with not many destination. Even so, Genova is only 2 hours c.a. from the cheapest airports in Italy (Milano e Bergamo). You can reach Genova from Milano by train or by bus, it’s not expansive. Genova is a big city so you have shops, markets, cinemas, museums, theatres and a lot more (useful spot for evenings activities or rainy days); but the best part is that the sea is wonderful. I would suggest visiting some little villages on the coast like Boccadasse, Nervi, Bogliasco, Camogli, Recco and many more, for the best sea experience and quiet places to enjoy in the summertime. This small villages offer you many things in common with e the famous “5 terre” but are on the cheaper side. The weather is quite hot so I would suggest visiting in June or September (avoiding July and august). The food in Genova and Liguria is wonderful: try the traditional focaccia and pesto alla genovese:)
Another option is Tuscany but the citys and nature is much better than the sea. Otherwise the best sea is found in the southern part of Italy: Puglia, Calabria, Basilicata and Campania. Or the Isles: Sicilia e Sardegna. Write me if you need more informations!
Maybe puglia region. Fly into Bari or brindisi/ Salento and go to a beach club in monopoli
