Hotel suggestions for Japan? Traveling Tokyo (1 week) , Kyoto (4 days) and Osaka (4 days). Our group is 7 but we are breaking up lodging so my group is 3. looking for somewhere decently priced.

As a local, I book guesthouse dormitory rooms when I want to save money. If you want some privacy, I recommend business hotels. I stayed the super hotels in Oita last year. It was brandnew and nice & clean. I book through Rakuten travel and so far I haven't had problems. Always very smooth. Next week I booked a dirmitory room in Beppu, Oita thru Rakuten and the price is about 5000 yen for 2 nights.
