Solo travelHoping you ladies can give me some advice on visiting Guatemala solo in February.

Hoping you ladies can give me some advice on visiting Guatemala solo in February. Thought I’d fly into Antigua and spend a few days - suggestions? Things to see and do, places to stay - is it safe to walk alone? (Usual precautions of course). I could stay as long as two weeks…..are there other towns and places to go? I’m more into culture than hiking but I’m active. Appreciate any and all tips. Oh - I’m not a hostel stayer. Mid range budget.

I would recommend visiting Tikal. It is amazing. I haven't been to Guatemala for many years but I remember it as fairly safe although I was in a group. You can get some amazing crafts at the markets almost anywhere. Take a filter water bottle with you as sometimes the bottled water is refilled with tap water. Check your vaccines at a travel clinic and you should likely get something for malaria depending on where you visit. A friend contracted malaria there.
