Its a really safe place because albanian people have pride that they dont do those things. Maybe at 3:00-4:00 it would be better to stay cause there arent anyone outside but nothing else . its a safe place and albanian are welcome people
Posted: December 30, 2024Tirana is a pretty safe city. However, just like other places there are shitty people here. I would recommend to look like you know what you are doing, don't look lost and just don't go into sketchy neighborhoods. As a local I always use the main roads at night. Might take a little longer but it's worth it.
Posted: December 23, 2024It is overall a safe city, only concern is catcalling during the late hours of night. There are no pickpocketers. I love how I feel safe walking around at all times alone. If you need help, there are people on the street which will try and help you out.
Posted: December 23, 2024I walk at night in Tirana, and it is pretty safe, there have been catcalling before but it has minimised, men tend to catcall foreigners but its a small minority and they don’t really act on it. Central area is very safe.
Posted: August 3, 2024Tirana is a safe place overall in my experience. What I’m mostly negatively experiencing is verbal harassment by older men and (un)fortunately nothing outside “common”. They would make comments about my appearance and ask me out. I was never touched inappropriately or physically assaulted. Ive walked outside in different hours of the day, from 6am to 2am.
Posted: July 6, 2024Tirana is a safe city, I mean overall Albania is a safe country with great hospitable people, who are very welcoming and friendly. Tirana is growing modern and friendly with tourists. Feel free to visit.

Tirana is a lively, vibrant and peaceful city at the same time. I stayed 1+ month in Tirana with my boyfriend and really enjoyed how walkable it is and how easy it is to get around. You can get a hybrid taxi to the airport / day trips or get the bus (very frequent) at the clock tower near the square (L11 for Dajte Mountain and the Bunkart1 only 40 lek - you can pay on the bus). I highly recommend visiting both Bunkart museums and going up the mountain with the cable car where you can enjoy some views and play minigolf (the cable car ride is 1400 lek and 7000 for the minigolf) During Christmas time there was always something going on at the main square: games, markets and concerts with Albanian artists every night Avoid bar-restaurants that offer "traditional" food as it's not really traditional and overpriced. Going to bakeries etc will give you a better and cheaper experience

I felt very safe in Tirana. They have a good amount of museums and attractions you may want to visit It was the first time in my life when I was able to walk alone after midnight, talking in the phone without a care in the world. Truly an amazing experience
