Solo travel experience
Taiwan is incredible and definitely an underrated region of Asia. I spent a week in Taipei and never felt unsafe there. The food was amazing, I tried many really affordable dishes from street stalls which received Michelin stars. My only regret is that I didn't visit other parts of the country.

Solo travel experience
I lived in Taipei for 1,5 years and it’s definitely one of the safest and cleanest of the big cities I’ve ever been to! Good food, wonderful people, good nightlife, amazing culture, temples everywhere and hiking trails not far from the city. Just be mindful of the snakes, spiders and bees. You will also get to lots of dogs in baby carriages! ◡̈

People from Taiwan are so nice! It's also quite easy to travel alone. I recommend getting a sim card for data and being able to rent a bike. This saves a lot of time and you can travel almost all over the city, just following the bike paths. Eat everything you can at street stalls!
